A conversation I often have around resilience – especially when we’re working through change at an individual or organisational level – is that attending to the small things can make a big difference.
Here are three very quick ideas that can help you build your resilience – and confidence - to keep going when change might seem tough:

Take time to pause and reflect
When you’ve reached a milestone – however small or large it might be. Your milestone might be the end of a big project, delivering a difficult or challenging message or just the end of a few packed days or weeks.
Executive coach Fi Craig shared a lovely concept that when we have something challenging ahead, it’s like a mountain we have to climb. Once we’ve reached the summit and come down the other side, we move onto the next peak without recognising that our last mountain has now shrunk to a molehill.
Looking back on those molehills and taking time to reflect on what we’ve achieved every time we climb a mountain, helps us see what we’ve achieved and learned on the way. And that’s definitely worth celebrating
Recognise the effort you’ve put in
It’s often only when we complete a big task or project that we realise how much work has gone into it and again, what we’ve learned along the way.
Connect!
Connecting with others is one of the five ways to wellbeing and strong relationships are vital to our resilience too. It’s not just about having relationships but also, being able to ask for help when we need it too – and that’s often essential when we’re going through any sort of change. And celebrating achievements with friends is a great way to reconnect as well as giving us the opportunity for reflection and a safe space to debrief
I’d love to hear any tips or tricks you have to help build your wellbeing and resilience, especially in change or if you’d like to explore this in more detail, either for yourself or your team, get in touch.
