You and your team don't just need a break – it's a reset that will make the real difference

There’s been a lot of movement across workplaces in recent months, from restructures, to new tech and big rethinks. Even if you and your team haven’t been directly impacted by change, chances are you’re still feeling the ripple effects of it from somewhere.

And those ripple effects can often have a bigger impact than we anticipate. Teams keep moving forward, while they quietly adjust to the things that have shifted, whether that’s how work gets done, or simply who’s still around – or not.

As we head into the summer holiday period, I’ve been hearing the same thing on repeat, “I really need a break.” But what if that break isn’t quite enough? What if people come back feeling rejuvenated, only to find that within a few days, the energy’s gone again?

Even when change is well-managed, it can take its toll - on people’s momentum, on energy, on team alignment and on trust. As a result, time off can help but it rarely creates a real reset, especially when there’s more change looming both inside and outside the organisation.

Before the pressure kicks back in...
A simple pause – time and space to acknowledge what’s changed and give people space to regroup and set the way forward, can make a real difference. This is particularly true after restructures, when teams might feel like very little has stayed the same.

When change keeps happening and fatigue sets in, it can have a material impact on productivity. According to Capterra research, 32% of change-fatigued employees said they felt less productive, and 48% reported feeling more tired or stressed at work due to excessive workplace change.

So, a break might help. But it’s unlikely to carry you, or your team, into the final quarter of 2025 with the clarity and energy you need. If you’ve made changes, but haven’t yet created space to reset, now’s the time to plan for it.

Get in touch to shape your regroup for September, when everyone’s back together.

Whether you need greater clarity or alignment for your team, or a chance to step back and reset yourself, this is your opportunity to get ahead, rather than spend Q4 trying to catch up.

A short conversation now could save you months of firefighting later.
If that sounds useful, let’s talk.
